So what does it mean to be an opportunist anyway? You know, they say that Hitler was an opportunist.
Don't worry, by no means do I condone the mass murder of Jews. Perhaps the mass murder of corrupt politicians with the initials G.B. (no, I'm not refering to anyone in particular...) ;)
If you don't know me, you're probably already freaked out by the kind of person I am. I think it's a skill, being able to provoke curiosity and get people to ask the questions who? What? WHY?!?!?!
If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me that....I'd have a lot of change to scam the TTC with.
Seriously though, I guess this, my first blog entry (entry? is that what it's called? I'm a blog-newb), is an attempt to answer those thought provoking and sometimes disturbing questions.
So who am I and why do I want to call myself an opportunist? If you knew me, you'd know why. I constantly find myself in these situations where I thought there is an opportunity (be it for fun, networking, etc.). I think that I'm an incredibly lucky person. Don't you? If not, you should start!
To give you an example of my "opportunistic" nature, why don't I tell you about my summer plans. So this one day, I found this (somewhat shady) bus company that was selling bus tickets to New York for $1.....now I'm going to NY for a few days! While looking at a map for the states, I saw that lots of cities are close by and relatively cheap to get to.....so now I'm going on a mini North-Eastern road trip (bus trip?). The government offers free money for people to go to Quebec to learn French.....so I'm doing that!
Basically, I am totally against planning. If you plan, how are you supposed to take advantage of the unforeseen opportunities?
Now let's move onto What? What Adventures? *insert evil laugh* Any that the wind blows my way! I will surely keep you posted!
and WHY?!?!?!?!? why not? I'm still relatively arthritis free, so I may as well! What's the worst that can possibly happen.....
Yeah...that question definitely hasn't always brought me to the best situations....
But at least I don't lead a monotone life!
